Flaw in the security system. With screen lock set tp say 10min with fingerprint and setting do not power down screen during charging the screenscreen remains active even when the phone is locked. When trying to swipe to another app, the lockscreen suddenly shows.

I can't say for sure, but I think that's by design. If you set the timeout, and the device to keep its display on during charging, it only allows you to use that one app when the timeout is met.

I have gotten this same behavior with just watching a long video in fullscreen mode; I can keep using the browser, but switching to anything else shows me the lock screen. This matter is a battle between security and convenience - and personally I think this behavior is correct.

If this is the case then Sailfish OS should include the regular swipe animation which slowly fades in the lock screen, so as a user you could go ooops and slide back before releasing your finger and bringing you back to the active app. Now what happens is that the user doesmt know what lock state the phone is in which is at best a UI issue and at worst a security defect.

It is a (much debated compromise in the convenience vs security -continuum) feature, not a bug.

The intent is that applications where constant interaction with the device is not expected (like using navigator, or watching videos) can be used despite the device getting locked -> When display blanking is inhibited due to settings / application requesting it, automated locking happens "in the background" -> Authentication is requested when the topmost application changes / goes away.
