Include in-app control support for smart devices, like

  • Philips Hue
  • Ikea TRÅDFRI
  • LIFX Bulb, Beam, Tile
  • Nanoleaf Aurora
  • Xiaomi Yeelight
  • others...

The new app should be an alternative to Apple Home and Google Home.

Nice idea and zero chance of this app being made by Jolla. This is more of a third party application rather than proprietary. While you may get votes for users wanting this type of app, don;t hold your breath, the team at Jolla is small and stretched to capacity and 'we' (you, I and others) do not pay the bills at HQ, so what gets developed, is largely out of our control.

Have a look at these couple of apps on Openrepos; (they may or may not be up-to-date or even unsupported, I haven't checked)

https://openrepos.net/content/aa13q/home-assistant-client

https://openrepos.net/content/jcoder/homecontrol

And of course, do a search on Jolla store for any other 3rd party home automation apps.

Unfortunately, jolla is not interested in the development of the operating system to a greater extent and applications that are in need of updating. I myself have a very long wait for support application releases Sailfish os 3.0. The latest functionality for the third version did not appear at the presentation.

For the Philips Hue and compatible lights, there is an app available in the Jolla App Store:

While this may not be the answer you're looking for exactly, but I'll give a working example nonetheless. I am using home automation hub called Cozify : www.cozify.fi This hub can control a multitude of apparatus from different manufacturers, i.e. Philips Hue. Their phone app for android works really well in SFOS (atleast Xperia X).

I get it, you'd like to see native app... so would I. And that's what I posted too on their forum a request for SFOS app for Cozify.

I will also write a statement of support for SFOS on the forum. I know that many developers say that a very small user base to release the application...Thank you for responding!
