Grayscale display mode
Is it possible to have a grayscale dispaly in Sailfish OS? I saw this feature on Android OS and I would like it to be implemented on Sailfish OS, and also useful for power saving.
We have moved to a new Sailfish OS Forum. Please start new discussions there.

Maybe create a grayscale ambience? :)
juiceme ( 2018-06-22 12:40:52 +0300 )editIt isn't the same thing, because in this mode Andorid OS is all grayscale: settings, icons app, game, app, ecc.. The ambience doesn't change it
arcadia ( 2018-06-22 12:55:15 +0300 )editThe color profile in SailfishOS (at least in Jolla1) is fixed/not accessible, at least that is what I gather from looking at mcetool output.
Spam Hunter ( 2018-06-22 16:02:15 +0300 )editA greyscale mode would only save power if the device has an AMOLED display and currently no officially supported SFOS devices have an AMOLED screen.
But I agree that this would be a nice-to-have feature for the future.

Nexus 7 for example have it and I see doesn't have AMOLED screen, but the battery life is good with it.
