Can the Jolla video player play this?

Is there a player that can?

.ts is .vob files, far too much data for Jolla1 to use, perhaps more mileage could be had with an XperiaX device and trying to play it.

As with all questions like this, you can answer it for yourself by simply wedging a video onto your device, bearing in mind that a ripped DVD is usually around 4.35gb, which is no good for a FAT32 formatted sdcard.

It's h264/aac. I put the ts file on my Jolla C but I couldn't work out how to load into whatever plays videos - gallery? Any suggestions? VLC plays it in Linux.

@DaveRo try LLs Video Player on openrepos

@r0kk3rz Thx for that suggestion. I see that LLs "only supports codecs that are supported by that gstreamer layer." so if LLs can play it then probably the default player can too. No gst-play unfortunately. Perhaps all I need is to try adding the mime type somewhere.

I don't actually have a .ts that I want to play. It's a theoretical question - could an app play a captured stream without the overhead (time, battery) of converting it to mp4.

what is your output of gst-inspect-1.0 | grep mpegts ? Default gstreamer should be able to play your file...

aac/h264 ts files are supported by gstreamer-1.0 and play with LLs videoPlayer and potentially other players.
