Sailfish OS on Shiftphones

Hi Jolla, this is one more optimistic suggestion of a colaboration partner:

I recently came accross Shiftphones (www.shiftphones.com). This seem to be a nice small German producer of mobile devices, additionally having a strong focus on sustainability - similar to Fairphone.

I liked the idea of seeing a colaboration of Jolla and Shift. Of course I have no insights about the necessary negotiation efforts and duration and/or technical obstacles prior to any agreement, but to me it at least fits in terms of mindset.

Maybe you already know or even evaluated on that topic, but I wanted to be sure you get the information at all.

You may want to read this article and have a look at wikipedia.

Thus, I wouldn't trust this company. But this was in 2016. They may have solved all "issues" in the meantime.

Well, they may have had thought too big and the result may not be as good as fairphones approach, but at least they allow rooting, actively support alternative OS's (wikipedia mentions sailfish OS) and you do not loose waranty if you modify your phone. So it may be a potential partner.
