Contacts and media gone after Mouhijoki update on Jolla 1

Hi there,
on my Jolla 1, I tried to install the latest Mouhijoki but the download never finished but froze. So I tried following the instructions here https://jolla.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003648634-Downloading-OS-update-fails but am not sure how much of the commands went through (I was not sure how to enter the PW, did not know it would not show as I type it...). I think rm -rf /home/nemo/.cache/store-client/os-info may have worked but probably not what is supposed to follow (rm -rf /home/.pk-zypp-dist-upgrade-cache/*). But I am not sure. Then I rebooted the phone.
So after this, the update installed but now all my contacts are gone and all pictures, videos, music. Unfortunately, I did not create a backup even though I know I should have!
I logged in via ssh and all media folders in the home/nemo are empty. The contacts.db in .local/share/system/privileged/Contacts/qtcontacts-sqlite/ weighs about 320K. But when I open the contact app, it only shows the default SIM stored contacts.
Any ideas how to get my data back?
