Data link via SIM card not possible [answered]

Hi, I just tried today to switch on data link via the SIM card, but got a message "not possible while romaing enabled". I am in my home country. With the same SIM card data link is possible on the N9 and works seamlessly. There must be something fundamentally wrong with Xperia X phone.

Later I tried calling someone with earphones plugged in and the person did not hear me - seems that microphone was turned off for whatever reason. When I was called back we could talk.

These are just few of the problems I faced. For this question please answer only the first one - what should I do to be able to use the the data link via SIM, where should I look at etc.

thanks in advance

I experience a similar problem on my Jolla 1 with system 2.2.0.29 (Mouhijoki): After having tunred the device off and turning it on again yesterday, mobile data connection is no longer possible, even though it looks like I can enable and disable from the short-cut icon. When moving to the Mobile Data dialogue within Settings, and trying to enable "internet", the process seems to remain in Connecting. In my case the roaming setting does not seem to have any influence. Have also checked with my mobile data provider, and there is no indication whatsoever that connection is refused from their side.

it must be an issue with 2.2.0.29, because after I was pissed, I did remove the SIM and put it in my N9 - no issue at all there - I had data link on the next second. I was pissed because not only this did not work. Bluetooth does not work (my car seems to have BT <= 3 with legacy). And when I was driving and had headphone (no mic) plugged in and I was sure that when I get called it works, I tried to call someone and he couldn't hear me as if the mic was switched off.

It's simply not good - I can't believe what Jolla did with all this crap of pulse audio, ofono, bluez5 and the rest. However I like them as the only alternative to the NSA slaves and will support them in the future and I hope our voices will be heard one day - perhaps sooner than later, as I am afraid my N9 will die in few years.

regards

The mobile data connection problem on my Jolla 1 (see 1. comment below the Question) is resolved.

I called the support of my ISP, after having observed similar connection problems on an Adroid unit. The support suggested to re-configure the setup, even though they didn't want to confirm or deny whether they changed anything in their system. Where the Jolla 1 is concerned, the important change was to set Authentication for Data Access Point to None. It was set to CHAP on my Jolla. Whether this setting came with the 2.2.0.29 update or not, or whether the ISP has moved to a lower level of security or whatever ... this remains obscure to me.
