Haptic unlocking?

Would it be possible to create a locking system that relies only on haptic (non-visual) feedback?

Could that haptic unlock system give fast access to functions like camera, media playback controls, et cetera?

Could you please elaborate? Haptics is as I understand it in this context the feedback the device gives the user with short vibrations, but how would that be used as a lock?

The vibrations would simply mark that somthing has been done while unlocking. A similar thing happens when pulling down a menu in Sailfish OS.

Simply put: I want a lock that I can unlock without even looking.

OK, I start to see the why, but the how is still quite vague. Do you have some concrete suggestion to how it would look or work?

Multitouch combined with direction would be one way. Threefingerleft, onefingerup and twofingerdown.

Swiping from different directions might work too. Infromtop, outatbottom and infromleft.

On Xperia this already works since 2.2.0 with the fingerprints.
