[SOLD] Wanna buy tohkbd - does anyone sell one? [answered]

I do, but I don't think you like the Finnish/Swedish layout that much ;)

What does it look like? Is it possible to see a picture? I am a blind typer, so most of that stuff should not disturb me. :-)

A long time ago, I have had a blackberry and the keyboard was great for typing.

Yeah, a proper and integrated hardware keyboard is very useful on a mobile device.

Now, I am searching for a TOHKBD to get back this kind of efficiency.

You shouldn't, as you won't "get back this kind of efficiency":

• The TOHKB plastic parts were produced using 3D printing, not mould injection, hence it feels a bit rough, like a prototype. It bends, has varying clearances between parts etc.
• The force necessary to trigger a key-press varies greatly between keys, only to become worse over time (i.e., some keys have to be pressed quite forcefully to trigger a key-press, some don't).
• The backlight (LEDs) illuminating the keyboard quite non-uniformly.
• It is a bit of a hassle to have its software installed, configured and running properly.
• The assembly of sbj (Jolla 1 phone) and TOHKB is very top-heavy (in contrast to the N900, which has the battery under the keyboard), so you have to cling onto it while typing (i.e., that feels awkward).

May I suggest considering to buy a Gemini PDA:
Much more modern hardware, integrated keyboard (clamshell design), plus the official ability to install and multi-boot at most four out of Android (stock), SailfishOS, LineageOS, TWRP, a desktop Linux distribution

thanks for your very true opinion! I have been thinking about the fact that it would be top-heavy. I just don't see the necessity to buy a new device while ditching a working piece of hardware, hence the Gemini PDA has more than 400g. With this brick, I could kill someone. ;-) So, I would like to go the "hard" way and see what I can do before I really give up.

I am very hopeful that I will have less typos with a hardware keyboard than with the touch screen keyboard. And the main purpose is to use it with the terminal on the go. The problem is that I have to type most stuff twice because the touch screen keyboard is so tiny in terminal. And - to be honest - I really dislike this. For me, the optimum would be to have a good bluetooth keyboard like the Waytools TextBlade. Unfortunately, this thing does not really take off.

So I would first try the minimal solution by using TOHKBD and take it further. Perhaps I can restore some of the tear and wear with my own 3D printer.

But: as soon as my Jolla 1 hits someone (I do imagine this sometimes ;-) ), I will consider the Gemini PDA immediately. :-)) I think that this is a perfect tool for work on the go. Just the weight is a bit of a problem. I would like to hold it and try it for a week to find out if it is a true solution to my needs. Because on the go, my Jolla fulfills all my needs. Just the terminal stuff is a bit of pain in the *ss because of the tiny keys.
