calendar's charset

Is our beloved sailfish calendar restricted character wise, or is this a calDAV issue? I cannot input stuff like &, >, not to speak of ä, ö, ü, é, without getting quite a mess and sometimes even a super mess, but I would be happier without it. If it's a calDAV issue: Does GoogleSync behave any better?

mine syncs via OpenXchange, but character issues with & or > seem to occur when entering stuff on Jolla (SailfishX) calendar.

The only real difference to keep in mind here when sending calendar invites as attachments, rather than sending an image or file, is to set the ContentType for the attachment to "text/calendar; charset=utf-8; method=REQUEST” tutuapp.
