Which information and software is required for hardware adaption?

My company has started to evaluate possible hardware vendors. We found very promising hardware manufacturers, which are able to produce small batches of customizes mobile diveces with a high quality and fair price.
A challange will be the hardware adaption of Sailfish OS. Which information and software willbe need from the vendor of the main components like Qualcomm for this purpose? The manufacturer will forward the question to his vendors.
I have also asked Jolla directly, but the community may like to share their experience with hardware adaption to create agreat product with pre-installed Sailfish OS for the European market.
The Sailfish OS documentation for the hardware adoption mentions libhybris and Android Board Support Package (BOS). I learned the the SoC vendor will deliver their chipset with a pre-installed Android.
