Message application crash on send

I've started to experience an issue where the message app crashes when I tap send.
Sometimes, when I've typed a message and then tap send, the message app crashes. I'm thrown to the start screen and the message app is closed. When I start it again the message is in the feed, but with status "Unable to send message". If I tap the retry-button it is successfully sent.
