Hi Will the Xperia X Compact get an official Sailfish X 3 update? Thanks

Edit: I am looking to buy a SFOS capable device but I need Android app support and I want it to be somewhat future proof (ie SFOS 3) - is the XA2 at least going to get official support?

Going by former statements by Jolla... Probably not.

I intend to get myself an XXC anyway, even though I have the XX. The size of the hardware is more suitable to my hand (yes, I use my phone one-handed most of the time). The communtiy release for XXC would be good enough for me because i stopped using android apps when Poor Maps (now forked as Pure Maps) came along. For those who are unlucky enough to need android apps I would suggest getting the bigger XX with Sailfish X.

As official as it got SF X 2? Finally got my Compact running with the latest SF X 2.2.1, Alien Dalvik and mircoG. I seriously don't wanna dream any further. But to answer your question: No! And I would be happy to be wrong.

@Vieno - I would also be happy to be wrong.

No need, thanks to patch by @g7 here - https://together.jolla.com/question/185922/sailfish-os-on-sony-xperia-x-compact/ Just purchase Sailfish X license, download official X image from Jolla, patch it with the patcher, and flash on XC. Now your XC will get whatever updates X gets. I'm using it now on 2.2.1.18

@Levone1 - Provided that SF 3 is deployed for Xperia X as well and not only for XA2. And if, we may hv to get a new license for it.

As I got an OA update notification for 3.0.0.5 on my Xperia X compact, the answer to this question is yes. Has to be proven, that update can be applied successfully (see my comment above).

If the question is for official image (without needing patch), the answer will stay no (has been discussed before).

Was able to update by manual interaction (see https://together.jolla.com/question/191632/sailfish-30-update/).

What is the exact problem? Do you have any error message? Which step do you have a problem with?

Thanks. If I run cmd and type >>> vagrant ssh -c "/vagrant/patch.sh -a f5321 -i /vagrant/Sailfish*.zip" it says:

bash: /vagrant/patch.sh: /bin/bash^M: bad interpreter: No such file or directory Connection to 127.0.0.1 closed.
