Fingerprint unlock accepts only 5 prints [duplicate]

After having added 5 of my fingerprints to the "unlock the device using fingerprint recognition" option, if I try to add more I get the message "Error! Your fingerprint could not be captured. Cancel/retry".

I find this number too low. I tend to grip the phone in several different ways, and I have found myself in a comfortable position to press the button with thumb, index, and middle finger of both hands. So I would personally like to have at least 6 prints.

Even if the number stays, the error message should be improved, at least. It does not make it clear at all what is going on (for instance, there is no point in offering a "retry" option).

The limitation comes from android hal and varies from one device to another. In case of Xperia X it is: You can store five fingerprints.

Regarding the ux issues caused by this (like being able to press that "add" button / pointless retry), there are some internal tickets about it.
