When using private browsing mode all searches are redirected to Baidu. I have set Duckduckgo as search engine and it works in normal browsing mode (if you wait browser to load start page first).

That's strange -- I have the search engine set to duckduckgo here and when I do a new search in a private tab it does the search in duckduckgo. I set the default to duckduckgo via the search engine plugin on OpenRepos.

I'm not sure anymore. Now when I tried to repeat this, it work as expected and opens Duckduckgo site. I will close this question for now. But I'm sure this happened, and not only once but occasionally.
