HowTo Restore Jolla Tablet rescue Image
Hi, After many issue during an upgrade, I want to restore factory version on my Jolla Tablet. But after reboot, I have the message "Factory reset fail".
I start the recovery process, but impoissible to do the factory reset :
ALL DATA WILL BE ERASED! Clears everything from the device and reverts the software back to factory state. This means LOSING EVERYTHING you have added to the device (e.g. updates, apps, accounts, contacts, photos and other media). Are you really SURE? [y/N] y 2 logical volume(s) in volume group "sailfish" now active [OK] No lockcode has been set. Proceeding... 0 logical volume(s) in volume group "sailfish" now active sh: /sys/class/block/mmcblk0p10: unknown operand sh: /sys/class/block/mmcblk0p10: unknown operand ls: /tmp/tmp.wsves8/Sailfish*: No such file or directory [ERROR] Factory reset failed. Connection closed by foreign host.
When I look for content of partition, I notice that the partition where Factory Image will be looking for is empty. How to restore 'root.img' and "home.img" (Where to find initial original image ?
Thanks, Fabien
I assume you did not update to 3.0.0.5 which I did yesterday and ended up now in a similar situation. This is the first time I brinked my Jolla Tablet during update process. After one hour no progress bar and I decided to swicht it off and on again. Now there is only the Jolla logo and it won't proceed further. So you say that even from recovery menu there is no chance to factory reset - right? This sounds scary. I don't know if there's any work around. A rescue image for the tablet sounds reasonable!
How did you precisely brinked your tablet?
