I ordered a Sony Xperia XA2 to use it with Sailfish 3 soon. After some here said its better to use a phone with android first to test the hardware before flashing it with Sailfish I did so. Most things work fine, but there are some issues with the camera, and camera is one of the features I use most on my mobile phone. I like photos to be geotagged, but the camera always needs some minutes to get a location, even with other apps that collect location data in background (gps logger, here maps). So the camera app needs to be active and screen on to get a location signal. Location services work that poor inside of buildings where I get no location at all. I tried that with some Sony test devices in a near tech warehouse (sadly not with an XA2), and the devices there had the location on camera start, even in the building. So now I'm unsure about my XA2. Is this a technical problem of the device, of the camera software or of my system settings (I turned of all unnecessary system rights; I won't feed Google my data...) I just think to give the device back when it's a malfunction before flashing Sailfish.

As a side note: flashing Sailfish on your Sony phone means a major downgrade for the camera.

U already installed SFOS 3 on XA2 tmy?

Guess. not, so u. cant. say its gonna be a major downgrade for the camera like on Xperia x and latest build!

@ aQuick1 of course its going to be a downgrade from the Sony Android camera. The SFOS camera on the XperiaX was a huge downgrade and most of us suspect the same thing for the XA2. It is what it is. If the camera was going to be as good as Sony's Android you can bet Jolla would be announcing it from the mountaintops.

@aQUICK1 No, but based on my experiences with Xperia X with SFOS the camera after flashing Xperia phone to SFOS may be a disappointment for someone who says "camera is one of the features I use most on my mobile phone". Otherwise Xperia with SFOS is great.
