Hi,

According to blog, Sailfish X will support Sony Xpeira XA2 & Plus & Ultra

But, I don't see some modal listed on tjc changelog

My question is: will Sailfish X support:

  • H4233 - Xperia XA2 Ultra (dual SIM / International)
  • H3123 - Xperia XA2 (single SIM / North America)
  • H3133 - Xperia XA2 (single SIM / Interational)
  • H4133 - Xperia XA2 (dual SIM / International)
  • H4493 - Xperia XA2 Plus (Dual Sim 64GB / International)

as none of above are listed in tjc changelog-300-lemmenjoki

Much appreciated!

Update 2018.11.08

According to Installing Sailfish X on XA2 using Windows @Dreej

  • (unconfirmed) H4233 - Xperia XA2 Ultra (dual SIM / International)
  • (unconfirmed) H3123 - Xperia XA2 (single SIM / North America)
  • (unconfirmed) H3133 - Xperia XA2 (single SIM / Interational)
  • (unconfirmed) H4133 - Xperia XA2 (dual SIM / International)
  • (unconfirmed) H4493 - Xperia XA2 Plus (Dual Sim 64GB / International)

So, still, none of above is listed in the installing guidline, sadly... Hope they can still be flashed tho

I think, on Thursday after the SFOS3 release we will know better.

@wolden But, I've already had a new H4233 on hand... So better to know if I need to refund it :(

It would be surprising if International versions from regions where Sailfish OS not marketed were officially supported, although presumably relatively minor changes required to produce community versions?

Now, that's an interesting question. Upvoted. What if I tried to install SF on a H4133 instead of the supported H4113? I cannot even find the H4113 here in Italy...

The same blog post you linked clearly states:

Sony Xperia XA2 devices are great hardware additions to the Sailfish X program, and I’m happy to share that we’ll start the support for all the product variants from the very beginning – including all single and dual SIM models

I feel I am still in the dark. "Product variant" could mean Xa2, Xa2 Ultra or Xa2 Plus. Hope you are right though. Edit: I took a look at the blog post again and it actually says:

Below are all the variants you can choose from... And it points to 3 pictures of Xa2, Xa3 Plus and Xa2 Ultra. So that is what "variants" mean in the post. We still don't have an answer :)

My clear answer:

Just wait two more days!

On the day you can purchase the license, they will clearly state what devices are supported.

If one of the international variants are not included, wait some more weeks until community members around the world can confirm that Sailfish X is running on the device you wanna have or how you can make it running (as it was with the dual sim variant of the Xperia X)

Well said. But your clear answer should have been a clear comment... :)

The supported models are now listed in the 3.0.0 release notes:

https://together.jolla.com/question/191509/release-notes-300-lemmenjoki/

All asked models are supported.

All of these are still EU models, so the problem is still not solved...

Thanks Dreej, upvoted.

Welcome guys.

Honestly I would try to flash it. I bet there are no hardware changes aside of RAM and storage. I also flashed the f5121 software on my f5122. It always worked well
