As a Sailfish user,

using a temporary SIM,

I want to find my own phone number,

In order to share the number.

I don't always remember my own number when using a temporary SIM.

I want to be able to check my own number in the settings.

Long winded, but you can see your number using csdtool. (CSDtool/Individual tests/SIM card:)

You could also, create a new ambience and name it using your new number.

I've tried several times to make a patch for this very idea, but failed each time.

You might also add yourself to your contacts? A kludge, I know, but more than nothing.

It's been around for a long time. Means a less-than-elegant hack.

Adding yourself to contacts has also other benefits. You can for example send your calling card as a MMS. You can also have separate personal and business contact cards.
