Ghost typing on Xperia X dual SIM
Hi,
I'm having very frequent instances of ghost typing on my Xperia X. It started a few months ago and has persisted through various updates (I'm now on 3.0.0.8). I had to re-flash the device to install the "official" F5122 image with Mouhijoki but that had no effect either.
I was only able to find one other related post about this issue although in my case I don't think it's a Dalvik problem as the ghost typing persists even if Dalvik is stopped.
Is anyone else experiencing this and is there a remedy?
Thanks in advance!
By ghost typing, do you mean words repeating themselves like "repeatingpeatingpeating"? I had the same issue and it was apparently caused by my finger touching the camera button while typing.

Typical effects are calls being cut, random numbers dialled, apps opening and closing by themselves, menus being accessed etc, all in very quick succession.
When this behaviour manifests itself, I typically lock the screen, wait a couple of minutes and then unlock the device to see if it has stopped. It's repeatable when I restart the device, i.e. immediately after restarting, when I try to enter my unlock code, there will be random input on the code, and often the emergency call option is also activated and random numbers entered there. Needless to say, it's super-annoying!

from what I can tell, this sounds more like a hardware, rather than a software issue. Is it possible for you to test, whether the behavior is replicable on Android and could it be, that you recently dropped the phone in some way, perhaps not enough to visibly damage the screen but to mess with the digitizer in some way or another? Equally, if you have a screen protector on your device, could you perhaps test whether this behavior can be fixed by removing it?

Thanks for this! I removed the screen protector and unfortunately that made no difference. I'll try putting android back & report on the results. I have indeed dropped the phone a few times though there's no externally visible damage, as you mention.
