How much Google is in SFOS?
Hi there!
The main reason for me to buy a Jolla phone was to buy an European phone, plus Jolla's commitment to privacy. For one or the other reason I had to look behind the GUI and found several times the word google popping up. There are processes running having google in their name and I recently I saw this:
[D] unknown:0 - ProfileManager::syncProfile( "google.Signon" )
[D] unknown:0 - found a valid sync profile with the given name: "google.Signon"
So I was wondering how much google software is build in Sailfish and what impact this could have regarding privacy.
Before I can answer this, I have to ask you the following: 1st do you have android support enabled or not? 2nd did you add a google account?

I am not a programmer and I never looked into the "open source" code provided by google. Does using a "free" google script automatically mean that you share information with google?

My bet is the above piece is very likely to be associated with adding a google account for mail - there you need signin to log into Google. Makes sense to me.
