Sailfish OS has some of the user interface hidden in places that are only visible at times. These "transient" details, like the week numbers in the calendar or "peeking" the home screen, can be annoying at times but also one of the charms of the unlike user experience.

What could be done to improve the use of these transients in Sailfish OS?

Could some of the problems of the user experience be solved with innovative use of transients?

Info about image in Gallery
The current way of seeing the information about an image is pressing the button on the top left. That opens a page with the details. Swipe right and you get "back" to the image view.

An alternative could be to put the info as a transient page between the images.

The header for each row is aligned to the right and the data is aligned to the left. Only some space is needed to separate header from data.

A transition would drag the headers superimposed onto the right side of the image. A slimmer page with a blurred ambience background would then show the data. The edge of the image would thus be the separator. The left alignment would tie the data to the correct image in the mind of the user.

Nice idea. How about utilize other side of fullscreen exit swipe? Like pulley but with image info? That way it's not visible in every swipe when changing image.

Media players

Dragging the currently played media would first hint the next file or track number and when dragged further skip to the next.

Gesture control would make media players safer to use when driving.

The Talefish app could also use this approach for track navigation.
