Hey,

since the Xperia X just has a Mini USB connector and is missing a mini Hdmi connector, how about implementing MHL Support into Sailfish OS, so we would able to stream to a compatible television or device through the existing USB connector. It would make Xperia X even more awesome :)

There's no way to to output MHL over the Micro USB connector without hardware support what the Xperia X simply doesn't have. It would be rather possible to implement Miracast support in Saifish OS and stream the display to a TV, PC or other device via WiFi. The Ubuntu Phone OS had such a feature and also all the Android phones until 6.0 when Google dropped it in favor of it's own Google Cast protocol.

I think most of the newer smartphones stopped supporting MHL with Samsung's Galaxy Sx as an exception. They and HTC, LG and Huawei all as well use now Alternate Mode over USB-C:

Xperia X has a USB-C connector :P. So how about implementing that method? https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2016/9/1/12758384/usb-c-hdmi-alt-mode-cables-specifications

My Xperia X still has the good old fashioned Micro USB connector. :) In any case of the HDMI, DP or MHL alternate mode over USB-C there is some extra hardware required to multiplex the video signal onto the USB connector. So it was up to Sony to wire it or not. As they don't advertise it for any of their phones I doubt they did.
