Confusion about "Sailfish X for Sony Xperia X" vs "Sailfish X for Sony Xperia XA2"

In the Jolla shop there are variants for Sailfish X for Sony Xperia XA2, XA2 Plus and XA2 Ultra.

All three of them appear as "coming soon" yet on the wiki the resources for installing Sailfish X on Xperia XA2 are available and are mentioning Sailfish X.

What is the exact situation and why are there so many options in the shop?

Yes. I have same expression. I don't even see XA2 packages at all. https://together.jolla.com/question/194956/download-location-for-xa2/

As far as I've understood there's the free trial that provides Sailfish 3 on Sony Xperia X and XA2 etc. other models. This is for testing purposes with only Sailfish installation. So you can get the "free trial" and install the img files on Sony Xperia XA2 if you prefer only Sailfish.

Those that you refer as "coming soon" are the commercial licences for Xperia XA2 and other models. Obviously this commercial licence includes for example Android support. So right now you can only buy a Sailfish licence with all the commercial products to Sony Xperia X.

Jolla has stated that commercial licences for Sony Xperia XA2 etc. will be announced by the end of this year 2018 so we'll have to wait a bit. I agree that some kind of update to what's going on would be good.

Can you add link to "free trial" img files, please.

Exactly as @papyloup stated there. Every information regarding to the free trial is on shop.jolla.com website. Free trial or anything that Jolla provides as img files etc. arent' going to be just behind a link.

Free trial is free but you obviously have to sign in for it. I assume that after this verification your "free trial" image versions will be on shop.jolla.com/downloads
