Why is Jolla UI Text so big

HI i would like to know if there is a possibility to lower the text size in the general UI? I've a got a Sony Xperia and the screen is already small.

I think the question is "How to lower the text size under the Normal give us".

In Sailfish OS size is controlled by the dconf key /desktop/jolla/theme/font/sizeMultiplier

All we need now is a GUI to change it. Anyone want to write a patch?

This is how you change it (write this into the Terminal):

dconf write /desktop/jolla/theme/font/sizeMultiplier value

value is a float. Default is unset or 1.0. (2.0 means two times bigger, 0.5 is two times smaller)

Not all sailfishos user have good eyes. For all of us with bad eyes it was a old request (since 2013) for changing the font size: https://together.jolla.com/question/1062/enhance-the-readability-of-texts-in-the-ui-eg-configurable-font-size/ .

Now there is a setting for font-size. Thx to jolla.

@nerip: People have different skills. Making a phone for people from 8 to 118 is not a simple task. You can't make a phone only for your own skills. You has to imagine skills and limitations of all users.Have you check this before start this question?

@utkiek Off course i know that. I just want to be able to change size for lower value not higher. Ive a X compact and the screen is small and everything is too big with "normal size" font. I will try with the terminal but it should be with a GUI. Making a phone for 8 to 118 we all need GUI because we are not all developers.

@vatman Thanks I will try. Hope I will not break my sailfish os changing settings with the terminal.

Thanks it works fine. I put 0.8... Now we need a way to reduce (or enlarge) the size of the icons everywhere. For instance in the top menu icons are very big to me. And the icons in the app drawer too...

For the icons in app drawer, you can install patch "Launcher combine" from coderus.

i know already those settings but it's still too big...I'm in "Normal" size, i would like a "small" size
