Very interesting news item about some insights in Jolla, it's state as a company and it's future:

"However, Little Mouse also reminds Jolla of being a small company that can not blow everywhere." Can't argue with that!

More seriously, at the individual user level there's no good news in the article. Clearly, Jolla's focus is on other than us.

Still, "The smallest man even brags about the original Jolla's speed with the new version of Sailfish 3 ." Do the smallest man and Little Mouse disagree? Only time can answer that question.

Very nice source and article. It's a good news because jolla will grow.

But looking at branding image, being the OS provider for Putin's Russia goes a bit to weaken the image of privacy / freedom oriented. Also, from what I know of Finland and its historical past, I do not know how many Finns really enjoy a Jolla that becomes more Russian (albeit in minority)...

Will the end user no longer be the main focus?

Good news, but Jolla will go nowhere fast as long as they have an extremely outdated browser that kills and reboots the phone if one visits certain common news websites. A smartphone without a good browser is thoroughly crippled, so updating it should be top priority.

bocephus: Problem is that based on the story, Jolla is not seeking nor working for customers who have the slightest interest in a browser at all. From the looks of it, we're talking closed systems and embedded devices. And that's a worry.

Though their focus is on businesses, I don't think we'll be totally left out in the cold. I would prefer a tiny bit of individual focus as opposed to having no alternative to the unholy OSs. I do wish Jolla was more transparent in what the development team is working on. Perhaps this will come with the roadmap. And until we can either get webapps (not my first choice) or more native apps (preferable), I do hope they upgrade the Android version for the Xperia X.
