My Idea is to have a possibility to sync Notes between Linux PC and SailfishOS Device.

SimpleNote seems for me a good solution. Its FOSS, the code is on GitHub, There exists clients for Linux, MacOS, Windows, IOS and Android. Maybe some good coder could port it to SailfishOS ?

I don't know how difficult it is.. Other Apps are of course also very welcome....

My solution for notes is Notizen.md as native open-source Sailfish app, with the folder synchronized to my self-hosted Nextcloud instance. Notes are kept as separate files and may be edited with many other apps, including Nextcloud web GUI. BTW, Nextcloud has far more features than storing notes files, and many of them may be used with Sailfish apps, too.

That being said, I don't know anything about Simplenote. I'm just somewhat sceptical about the business model of services "all completely free".

Another syncing alternative is Nextcloud Notes by Scharel https://openrepos.net/content/scharel/nextcloud-notes

It's still WIP but it's maturing quickly and Scharel is eager to pick up and fix isses.

Simplenote is free for private persons. For business users there existst paid model.

@jollajo: as far as I know, Nextcloud Notes has no offline functionality (yet). Another app that comes to mind is ownNotes, but all forks seem to be abandoned.

same here, i edit my notes on Linux and MacOS as Markdown with the Atom editor, and use Notizen.md on my Xperia X - synchronisation between my laptop and my Xperia is done via rsync, on a Synology NAS.

As far as I read, the jollaCommunicator 2.0 includes a sync of Jolla's native notes app with Linux.

Its a good app, but this is not exact what i want. Personal i would like to see simple note app, which runs on my Linux PC and on SailfishOS and sync the notes just in time with the cloud service.
