Hi,

I got my XA2 ( Dual sim version H4113) two weeks ago and on last friday evening I flashed it with no problems and Sailfish seemed to run with no issues for about a day. Then suddenly on saturday evening I think I left it charging with usb cable hooked to my pc. Last time I checked it had somewhere around 80-90% battery left. Then after about an hour I found it completely dead (around 8pm). It didn't and still doesn't respond to anything, no notification lights, no vibration of any kind, screen completely black. Prior to leaving it to charging I didn't do anything unsual, just randomly browsed internet, didn't install any shady applications or fiddle with system settings.

It doesn't respond to any of the usual combinations like holding volume key up while plugging the usb, or holding it down and plugging, or down and power etc. None of those combinations don't seem do anything, like the blue notification led for fast boot. Fasboot devices command doesn't find the phone, nor Emma. Only thing that makes it seems it's not completely dead is that when I plug it to PC, SOMC Flash device appears in the device manager. Is there any hope left?

I had a similar situation, but quickly resolved it either by spamming power button or volume up + power button.

Your issue may be caused by a malfunctioning proximity sensor, try to triple-press the power key to temporary disable the proximity sensor:

Maybe have a look at https://together.jolla.com/question/196458/can-sfos-physically-damage-xa2/.

I had a similar problem.

Thanks, but doesn't seem to be the issue. Or if it is, the connector is then completely loose, since pressing the spot does nothing. Maybe I will tear it down tomorrow.

Mine came only back to life after some days after which it seemed completely discharged and I started pressing / charging. Whatever your issue is, I hope you can solve it. And please let me know, as I don't really trust the phone anymore after two broken ones...

Just let the battery get empty and it solve the problem. Let it be without charging two days and try pressing power button. If the led blinks you can put it into charger and it will wake up

I had similar issue few times before I flashed to sailfish. Then there was some android/sony update and after that the issue was gone. Now, after flashed to sailfish, it came back somehow. Phone was charging over night and was dead at morning. I heard it vibrated once at night while I was asleep.

This has happened to me twice now. The first time phone woke up after couple of days like Sanpo said. Now it's dead again and I'm just hoping it's going to wake up again.

But this basically means I'll have to take backup phone with me if I'm leaving the house for a few days. Going on a holiday or whatever.

I also had this issue now. What's the reason for this strange behavoiur? The phone was completely dead and not accessible for a few days. Is the reason SW or HW?

@SagaciousT For me the freezing seems to have stopped after flashing with Android and using my SIM card with Android. Then flashing back to Sailfish. See https://together.jolla.com/question/210639/xperia-xa2-h4113-freezes-randomly-with-yellow-led-blinking-on-31011/?comment=221497#comment-221497

I opened the phone today and the smaller connector to the battery was completely loose. The one on the right in the picture. https://www.witrigs.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/2-%E6%8B%86%E4%B8%BB%E6%9D%BFX6.jpg Put it back on place and the phone and Sailfish booted normally and everything seemed fine. So there wasn't any software issue. Just glued the back cover back to the phone and left it under a weight and back to Sailing tomorrow. :)
