Hello everyone,

I bought a used Xperia X. The Phone is actually on Android 8.0, no more OTA available. I will use debian/linux for the installation. I am not very technical at all but I try my very best:-) I have a few questions before starting:

1)On https://jolla.com/sailfishx-linux-instructions/ its said: "1.3 After you are done updating, check in your phone’s Android version: “Settings > System > About phone > Build number”, and make sure the build number is 34.3.A.0.xxx (where xxx is 228 or higher), or is 34.4.A.yyy (where yyy can contain any number)."

My version is 34.3.A.2.118 - so that means it's ok (right way of counting)?

2)Is it necessary to proof the build-number anymore like written here?: https://together.jolla.com/question/169544/sony-xperia-x-device-variants-and-bootloaderflashing-status

3) No. 5 of the installation-guide says: "5. Getting the Sony vendor binary images 5.1 Download the Sony binary image named SW_binaries_for_Xperia_AOSP_M_MR1_3.10_v13_loire.zip for the Xperia™ X here. 5.2 Unzip the SW_binaries_for_Xperia_AOSP_M_MR1_3.10_v13_loire.zip file. 5.3 Copy the SW_binaries_for_Xperia_AOSP_M_MR1_3.10_v13_loire.img extracted from the zip and paste it to the same directory where you extracted the Sailfish OS .zip file. Once done, you should have SW_binaries_for_Xperia_AOSP_M_MR1_3.10_v13_loire.img in the same directory with fastboot.exe, flash-on-windows.bat, sailfish.img001 and some other files."

For what do I need this, what is the reason besides the Saifish X image?

Thank you.

oke, first of all, I'm not an expert in here just try to install a few weeks ago, maybe my answer can help you

  1. as long your device serial number not below 34.3.A.0.XXX last week my device flashing sailfish x from build number 34.0.A.1.277 (NOUGAT ROM)

  2. as long your bootloader status says 'YES' and your success to unlock it. no more check. just go

  3. from what I'm read when the flashing process is on the way, the SWBINARIES is used to flash on OEM partition. i don't know what it's mean. but just do it. its valid instruction and happy Swipe :-)
