I found this from a few years ago, but closed, so I couldn't bump it - https://together.jolla.com/question/4863/we-need-a-good-file-manager-in-app-store/ Certainly, Cargo Dock is a great app, but when you consider what makes a modetn file browser a useful tool, things like tabs, ui options, etc., you see there's still a way to go. Probably Filecase is the best we have at the moment, but not being developed anymore. Anything else in the works?

btw - you can mount Sailfish system to Android home, and use a good file manager like Mixplorer { mkdir /home/nemo/android_storage/Mnt mount --bind / /home/nemo/android_storage/Mnt }, but it would be nice to have a native Sailfish equivalent, plus, it's limited...

How about File Browser? If you have good ideas how to improve it, the developer might be happy to add those. But I don't know if (s)he is still active.

And it is better to use github than jollaStore in commenting. Store doesn't send email if you leave a comment.

A big plus in File Manager would be the possibility to move/copy multiple files at once and not one by one...

You already can that, tab on the file/folder icon(s) you want to copy, move or delete, and select the operation from the tool bar at the bottom of the screen.

Thanx, cool, never found that up to now. Had no idea that this would work only on the icon, perhaps I'm still thinking to much in Windows 10 Mobile ways so I always tapped the file name...

I guess I don't know exactly how to put my finger on it, but just use something like Mixplorer for a while, and then go to Sailfish file manager. There's something just generally cumbersome, and hard to use about it. I think a lot of it is visual - it's just hard to look at - but some is features/functions also. Like, if I want to copy or move 3 or 4 different files to all different places in Mixplorer, it's a simple matter of a few long-presses to select, then swipe to open a new tab, quick-access drawer with any shortcuts or bookmarks I want, pick my location, drop any one or more of the foles on my clipboard, swipe again for another tab, etc... Not all of this backing out of directories, waiting for remorse, etc... Plus the almost infinite UI control compared to the almost non-existent UI control ...

it seem not sailfish style, right?

The icon? Not really. I guess you could easiyl put one of those Sailfish teardrop background things on it pretty easily if you wanted to. I'm not a big fan of the look, personally.
