Hello,

I have installed Cargo Dock and added my Dropbox-Account. I can see and download files. I have simple .txt-files which I want to edit while I go. Is that somehow possible? I couldn't figure it out yet. As a simple text-editor I have installed Editor.

Alternativly I would download the file, edit the file - but how to upload it again to Dropbox?

Thank you

As far as Cargo Dock, it's generally cumbersome - I haven't figured out how some things work yet with it. Maybe post a comment on Openrepos page. For the first part of your question - are you asking about the possibility of editing files in your Dropbox without actually downloading them? I would doubt that's possible, but if it was, it would have to be a feature of Dropbox, and nothing to do with your OS.

Thanks. Yes, editing without downloading, thats what I meant - its not possible, but its OK. I am fine with downloading and editing files. But after that uploading ... could not find a way yet.

works fine on my xa2 by just choosing a file on the local folder and copying to the other side where I chose the destination folder in dropbox. have not tried to copy a file back with identical name, though.

I'm not even sure how to las with Cargo Dock - I select a file, vopy to clipboard, go to a different directory, and I can't do anything. No amount of long-presses, double-taps, or menu selections reveals any way to paste. Sad because I think file manager is a pressing development nees for Sailfish, and Cargo Dock has potential, but needs work on UI, usability, etc... Anyway, I posted recently about a method of using Android file manager with cloud function in Jolla system, and it works, and others postes about even better ways to do it than mine - https://together.jolla.com/question/199510/how-to-mount-sailfish-system-and-sd-card-on-android/

First of all, Cargo Dock is a two panel file manager.

  • Start Cargo Dock and browse for your desired local directory.
  • Swipe the screen to the left, to see the right panel.
  • Browse for your desired Dropbox folder.
  • Swipe the screen to the right, to go back to left panel.
  • Long press desired file, to show the bottom menu, and pull up for desired action

Much better - thanks.... That's exactly the feature that made me think it would be great, but couldn't figure it out...
