Some of my contacts have multiple phone numbers.

I suggest when you long tap on a line item in the call log, the menu option that opens the contact should then 1. Open the contact from the People's app 2. Highlight the phone number that was logged in the line item I long tapped on (the default behaviour right now is to highlight only the first phone number entry in the contact).

I have a more general suggestion that also covers this topic: https://together.jolla.com/question/17830/ui-display-recipientsender-phone-type-in-smscall-history-view/

For the start it would be nice to see an icon indicating wheter this call is from land line, mobile or IP/SIP. Presentation of details after some interaction such as short or long press or pulley menu seems reasonalbe to me.

right now the only useful thing i can do is to tap and hold on the line item in the call log and when the context menu appears, tap on "Call". this should call the number that the person used to contact me without actually knowing what number that was.

Agree. In fact, I have the quick dial disabled for 2 reasons - one obviously to avoid pocket dial and another is to ensure i call the right number...

If you tap on the entry in the call log, you will see a screen that shows you the contact. Notice there will be a phone number highlighted here. this is the number that corresponds to the entry in the call log.
