Hello,

I've been using SailfishOS for quite a while now. I have Jolla1, Index Aquafish and now Xperia XA2 Single sim. And the idea of this thread is mostly to share my experience/pain with Sailfish3 on Xperia XA2.

As I already said, I own a Index Aquafish , and that has been my primary phone for the last 2+ years. And I'm actually quite happy with it...and the only reason for me upgrading was the need for android8 support.

It is classified as beta, but it is more like POC, at least for the Xperia XA2.

So let's go over the issues:

  • Android support - As I said, not beta, but POC...mostly unusable atm but looks quite promising!
  • Proximity sensor - This is really annoying bug! There is a workaround, but it is far from perfect.
  • Wireless - This is actually my biggest issue atm... the power consumation is insane ... I get 3-4 days of battery life on wifi on my 2y old Index Aquafish and 30 hours on the brand new Xperia XA2... Putting the phone in Power Saver mode or just setting power_save for the wifi interface helps a bit ...but u get like 40h then ...so far from what's expected.
  • Double tap to unlock - Well...this one don't look like it is missing cose of jolla, but still ...I do miss that alot.
  • Fingerprint sensor - This will be nice if it works in feature , but it is not really an big issue
  • Compas - Does this work?
  • NFC - well ..I don't really care about nfc.

So , sadly for now I'll have to stick with the Index Aquafish untill my to biggest issues are resolved:

  • Power consummation on WiFi - this kills me
  • Android 8 support - Getting in shape...after all it is the main reason I got the XA2.

Looking forward for the next release to see what fixes will get shipped :)

Thanks for sharing your opinions. I thougth about switching from X to XA2, because of differnt reasons. But as described there are two many new bugs and unsupported things mentioned arround here. So my conclusion is to stay at XperiaX for some month, and still hoping Jolla does a better job in smooth the overall experience.

It is Intex, not Index

Nothing new here, these things are all described in several other threads including one thread listing them altogether.

Then why comment? so many comments like that already in the forum.
