Exchange synchronisation with Office365
Sailfish X on XA2 ver 30.1.14
Auto Email inbox synchronisation randomly ceases to function. Pulley menu item for manual sync doesn't help. Requires reboot to get auto sync going again. Happens on both wireless and mobile data.
Sent email folder only syncs manually and randomly ceases to function. Reboot doesn't work. Requires exchange account to be deleted and recreated fron scratch to get sync working again on sent folder.
Both of the above happen on average 4 to 5 times per week and is a right royal pain in the behind.

Spark ( 2019-03-06 21:35:45 +0300 )editThis has been an issue for me lately on "Jolla C" Aqua Fish; chances are that it's not about XA2 at all but a more general issue with Exchange Synchronization. It's likely a some sort of network (implementation) failure.
Jolla acknowledges (but doesn't own up) the general issue, and proceeds to give you the useless "try reinstalling the account" advice: https://jolla.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/202011046-Troubleshooting-Exchange-Accounts
This advice is old, but enabling the "eas" logging and running journalctl on the terminal while trying to sync maybe shows you where the failure happens.

teemu ( 2019-03-06 23:17:08 +0300 )editWell, I don't think many mobile phone users will expect to have to be familiar with the Linux command line to make something as basic as email synchronisation ti work correctly. its not unreasonable to expect such things to work out of the box, or if not, for the msnufacturer/supplier to fix it. If Jolla aspires to be a genuine alternative to Apple and Android rather than an obscure niche OS for only the technically savvy then they need to look towards the basics at the very least.
UKSteveE ( 2019-03-06 23:49:13 +0300 )editHa, you won't get it to work correctly that way, but only maybe get to see what is the symptom of the failure. Apparentry the EAS plugins can't cope with networks changing. I have occasionally had some luck in syncing through mobile data by turning off the WLAN.
The Exchange syncing started going awry some months back. And yes, my XA2 has the same problem with same symptoms as my Aqua Fish.
teemu ( 2019-03-07 02:15:08 +0300 )editDon't need to be familiar with Linux command line. Open Terminal, paste
rmitchell ( 2019-03-13 14:57:39 +0300 )editsystemctl --user restart sailfish-eas
and press Enter. When you see MfE has past sync schedule, open Terminal again and press up arrow key then Enter. Process takes all of 4 secs.
