just installed protonmail.apk in the latest version 1.10.5 and the app works fine with WiFi, but refuses to connect to the internet via mobile data. Any idea how i could get the mobile internet working?

where might one get protonmail.apk? i don't find it in either repository and am stuck with my barely adequate pseudo-webapp.

UPDATE: oops -- i do not do android, so i didn't realize that .apk is an android extension. never mind -- if i wanted android i'd run android. there used to be a protonmail application or patch for sfos, and i foolishly thought there was an updated, working version. sorry.

i asked protonmail if there could be a native sailfish app but there are no plans yet. But it may be the chance that their app could become open-source. In the meantime i use the protonmail.apk from apk-mirror and it just works fine.

i tried abd didn't like the android app. was unreliable and gave no notifications. making a little webapp with the native browser gave me something that still doesn't throw notifications but it's reliable and it allowed me to nuke all the android stuff which, like everything else android, i don't trust. should we ever get a modern native browser -- holding your breath? i'm not -- notifications might come, too.

there was once a sfos-native protonmail app or script, but it apparently broke and is no longer around.

security is the one market niche that jolla could exploit, now that blackberry has committed suicide, but i see no evidence they're even slightly interested in it, so i'm hoping sfos on my xperia x will do until one of the secure open source phones ships.
