Dropbox is limiting free accounts to 3 devices:
I use Dropbox for getting stuff off my Jolla C - photos, email attachments - onto my Linux machines (SuSE, Debian) and sharing them with my wife who has >3 Apple and Windows devices. I also backup to Dropbox.
What's a Jolla-friendly alternative for those uses

Self-hosted Nextcloud instance running on my Synology NAS, currently used by four family members with their mobile devices (iOS, Android, Sailfish), as well as Windows and Linux based PCs.
Nextcloud support in Sailfish OS is said to be incomplete or even broken, but there are some native apps that work very well for me.
+1 for NextCloud. Perfect for contacts, calender and files. My Pi is perfect 😍

Sailsync owncloud is a lightweight and reliable file synchronization app. Administering shares would be done in Nextcloud's web interface (I don't know if a mobile app could do this with Dropbox).
What I mean with incomplete is carddav/caldav support of Sailfish. We all use Exchange accounts instead.
If you don't want to run your own server for hosting Nextcloud, find someone who does it for you. There are plenty of options. That's one more argument for using Nextcloud, isn't it?
ziellos ( 2019-03-14 23:50:18 +0300 )editDropbox is very good, though it's become much more limited over the years. I used to host a website, Firefox addons, userstyles and userscripts on it - all for free. The best thing about it is that it's not Google or Microsoft.
I don't sync my devices to it, or store stuff permanently on it. I just use it to transfer odd files. It's a 'share' or 'send' or 'save to' function I want, built into both native and Android apps.
