I know that the Jolla 1 uses btrfsand based on the latest comment over here https://together.jolla.com/question/157384/bricked-the-phone-trying-to-balance-btrfs-adding-free-space-via-sdcard/ other devices are supposed to use LVM2 and ext4.

Is that true? I'm especially curios about the Fairphone 2. Couldn't find anything about it other than android phones use ext4 since Android 2.3.

To be more precise :

  • Only Jolla 1 uses BTRFS for its system (and uses BTRFS subvolumes for sub partitioning and recovery)
  • Most of the other Sailfish implementations have a BTRFS drivers and can read/write memory card with BTRFS partitions.

(Though, for example, some of the early Sony Kernels lacked have the driver: Sailfish X for the Xperia X only started including it after a couple of versions. I haven't had the opportunity to thest XA2 yet).

@pawel@DrYak Thanks. Good to know that's it's still there but optional. But I don't think I'll use is in near future. It was one of the reasons for me to switch from Jolla 1 to another device.
