My phone vibrates only when it's in a right position, for example, on its side. This is probably a hardware defect, but knowing Linux, it might just be one of those bizarre things it does. Anyone else have this?

Update: Problem went away for a while, but today vibration stopped working altogether. The vibration just makes a tiny noise instead of, you know, vibrating.

My phone stopped vibrating yesterday, tried to change settings, restart the phone and remove battery but nothing yet.

I can completely shut down a few days ago

I think the vibration engine thingy gets stuck, as if you swing the phone a bit it helps it start working again

I'm also having this problem. Sometimes the vibration starts working again, but then suddenly stops. Most of the time vibration isn't working.

For me the problem started last week ... I can only get the vibration working again when shaking the phone :-/. I contacted care let's see what they say. My main problem is that this is my only phone :-/.

The good thing is I have a pebble which vibrations even when the phone does not :x.

FYI: I had a similar problem with vibration motor, after month 5 it stopped working, I run the csd tool and by gently tapping on the phone I managed to get the motor unstuck. This fix lasted for another 2 months or so, until it become very unreliable. Anyway, I contacted care@jolla.zendesk.com and they suggested to send my phone to them for repair.

The phone was repaired under guarantee and the whole process sending/repairing/receiving lasted less than 2 weeks at zero cost to me ;-)

Exactly the same here. Phone was away for 11 days (stayed in Helsinki for one night only, rest of the time spent travelling all over Europe with Fedex), now it is back and vibration working fine again. Glad to be back on SailfishOS, yay :)

Oh, and I was happy to see that the phone was not wiped. Wouldn't rely on that, though.

If you are talking about Jolla 1 motors, I do have those few in Kouvola. I could send you one or two...

Hi, yes Jolla 1 phone and one motor is fine. Thank you.
