Hi

Are there any Danish users here who have managed to make the mobilepay app (from mobilepay.dk) work? And if so, what steps did you take? It is Sailfish OS 3 on a Sony Xperia XA2. I have tried to install Google Play Store and Google Play Services, but Google Play Store crashes and so I installed the mobilepay app with the apk installation method, but when I start mobilepay it stops with a message that it needs Google Services to run. So I am stuck

Thanks, but it seems more of a hassle than I am prepared to contend with. I guess I'll just have to wait if no other solutions are available.

I don't think there will ever be an official way as its not a certified google device (as it doesn't run android) which means that it's not ought to run Google stuff.

Not Danish, but I installed the Store version and it works. I don't know if there's a difference between that and the one provided by mobilepay.dk.

The store version that I could get is a Finnish only version. It cannot be used by a Danish user, alas.

It seems that I could get it to work now: I fetched the apk package from https://mobilepay.en.aptoide.com/, It is a Danish version, and installed it. It lets me complete the registration and actually seems to work. It still complains that it won't work without Google Play services, but the warning message does not seem to have any bearing on its functionality.

4.10.1 is not the latest version as of April the 1st.

You can always fetch the latest Android directly from Google Play using the Yalp Store: https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.github.yeriomin.yalpstore/

If you're on Xperia XA2 you can simply ignore the warning regarding missing Google Play services as the app will work anyway.

Xperia X and Jolla C users can still use the latest Android 4.4-compatible version found here: https://mobilepay.en.aptoide.com/?store_name=erikth&app_id=44204432 (not officially supported and may stop working anytime).

Thanks. It amounts to what I have already done by other means (except for being the latest version). But it is good to know about Yalp. I just installed Sailfish yesterday for the first time, so I am still learning the ropes ;)

Alas, it has proven to work only very partially: With a wifi-connection it works sometimes, but with a mobile data connection (4g), it doesn't work at all, which makes it pretty useless. ;-(

I think I should update this thread: Uninstalling Google Play Services actually solves the problem. Mobilepay now works. It is rather confusing that you have to uninstall Google Play Services, as Mobilepay complains that it won't work without it!
