After updating Jolla 1 to 3.0.3.8 Sailfish Maps has been uninstalled, and can't be installed again via the Jolla Store. On the terminal I got this output:

pkcon install sailfish-maps Resolving
Testing changes
Finished
Fatal error: nothing provides sailfish-maps-all-translations-pack >= 0.6.1-1.6.3.jolla needed by sailfish-maps-1.2.5-1.9.2.jolla.armv7hl

And it's because the package sailfish-maps-all-translations-pack-0.6.1-1.6.1.jolla.noarch it's not at 0.6.1-1.6.3.

I suppose you did a pkcon refresh before?

this happened on my device as well, both with this most recent version (3.0.3) and the previous one. after a few days the maps app could be reinstalled from the jolla store.

The sailfish-maps version in the repositories has now been fixed and installation should work.

For the uninstallation during the system update we unfortunately can not do anything.

You can allow puremaps on the store and remove this buggy thing once and for all :)

Problem solved :D

@Keto Thanks, Maps now installs fine.

@ApB While I love Pure Maps, I don't consider Maps buggy. There must be a (legal?) reason for this uninstallation mess we see on every update.

@Maus

The fact that when you tap a location and the point moves somewhere else is ULTRA annoying.

@ApB You're completely correct with that, I somehow always thought it was me/my device only and worked everywhere else ...

@Maus nope its probably that most people use Pure maps (or the android map app) and don't ever bother with it.

IMO it needs to go and pure to be in the store. (has an active dev, native app and works)
