I created answer and updated some typos => Suprisingly the whole answer disapeared when saving the updates???

When I re-created the answer and did update same update for testing same happend again.

I was able restore the answer by using the browser cache and saving the answer from cached browser view restored the answer.

@eric Should this be verified by somebody else also?

I noticed similar behaviour when editing posts, it also behaves strange when you reload the page after editing. Could be connected to server-side cashing?

We haven't received any server-side crash reports directly pointing to that particular question, but I'll investigate this. I can see that the answer posts exists, but for some reason are marked as deleted...

@Keto the answer with comments was finally deleted by me as the community members were thinking that it was not valid answer and there was similar answer already posted. I added my original answer as comment to earlier posted answer.

Is it possible that there was several persons making changes at same time and mine was not accepted?

anyway it was surprising as it happend first with Jolla and then with IE9.

But if you find something that can make the database action more secure thats always fine.

@Kari@Keto: I sometimes run into similar issues, and noticed that when it happens, if you refresh your browser page, it will actually show the change properly... I cannot exactly tell when/how it occurs, but since I discovered that refresh actually confirms the edit is recorded, I got along with it...

@jgr In my case the whole answer was gone after saving the updates like I would never posted the answer.

This happend to me twice first with Jolla and later with IE9. With IE9 I used browser back button and was able to find the answer I was editing. Saving the cached version of the answer was also shown again.

In my opinion it is exactly the same behavior?

Yes, this is a duplicate, closing as such, please cast votes and comment on the above referenced post, thanks!

@eric It is always possible that I don't understand the what is the issue described in the other post or my own attempt to explain what happened is not successful either.

But in my opinion the difference is that in my case the edited comment disappeared after saving update like would have deleted. In my issue even reloading the page didn't bring back the lost answer - it was simply gone.

In the other post the issue seems to be that invoking the comment edit brings up outdated text for editing, but the comment has not disappeared like in my case.

However the main thing is that such issues are found and corrected at the end.
