Encrypted PDF "does not exist" in email app

I am getting some emails with attached password encrypted PDF documents. The problem is, that the mail app does not show the attachment anyhow, like if it does not exist. Therefore I found no way to save the document for later processing. The only sign that the attachment is actually present in the body of message is the size.
If I try to forward the message it will be forwarded without the attachment.
