I bought the Sony XA 2 in December last year, before I had become aware of Sailfish OS and wanted to try it absolutely. So I bought a license and installed the beta version.

The first experiences were characterized by curiosity and mostly positive. Unfortunately, there were also negative experiences concerning old browser, too quiet loudspeaker when telephoning, dark screen when telephoning, ...

Temporarily I played with the idea to use LineageOS instead of Sailfish, but no I stay with Sailfish. I now appreciate the freedom and configuration possibilities of the system and with the last update to Hossa, many of the previously noticeable bugs have been fixed.

I thank the whole Jolla/Sailfish team for this OS and the tireless efforts between the giants of Google and Apple. I hope that Sailfish will be with us for many years to come and yes there will be small bugs in the OS in the future, in my opinion the manpower is missing. Maybe this will change one day and perfection is boring.

Furthermore, I would like to thank the community for their help and advice.

My experience is very similar: I used my fairphone with ported sailfishOS (thanks to @mal for this excellent work!) for about 1 year and I'm still using it. I got my XA2 before the beta Version was released, then bought the license. The only reason for Android is I do need a spreadsheet app (and somtimes a better browser) It's a pleasure watching things getting better day by day! And many thanks to the community! For a user like me is great to have the possibility to get answers and to see how many skilled people are out there to help. I❤SFOS

Yep I'll add my thanks too, I also bought an XA2 in December and was also less than impressed and haven't been able to use it daily due to the totally abysmal battery life, or should I say complete lack of. One update later and wow, what a humongous change, it's only dropped 16% in 24 hours sat idle, like it has been becusue I've not been using it. Maybe now I might be able to. I'd already told myself this phone was the last chance (up to the years end) for Jolla to keep my interest after 4+ years, they may redeem thereselves yet, if this update is anything to go by! Well done team Jolla ..............

Thank you for writing this. I think it's really important, especially at the moment when the frustration is the highest I've seen it.

I'm still loving using Sailfish, and hope it's around for a long time to come.

If we can foster a more positive and constructive approach to fixing things like it was a few years ago, I think it will do amazing things. Not to mention, it will be much more welcoming for new users trying to find their way, or even decide if they want to go down this route.

Your message is an excellent start.

also dont forget at least 3 very promising new phones are in the piplinr that showed og support fot sailfishos pinephone will be big sucess fxtec pro 1 and fairphone 3 so more devices with nee users. jolla developers need focus on functionality. i would go the path og a hybrid android os. most people want android apps to run on sailfish od jolla need focus on this feauture much more as is app store is not used by many people. either develop full working native apps for popular android Apps or improve android support.
