A bit of a strange behaviour here: I recently upgraded my Jolla1 to 3.0.3.8. Frictionless. Now it keeps telling me that a new release 3.0.3.9 would be available. But when I go to Settings (Einstellungen) - Upgrade (Aktualisierungen für Sailfish) it tells me, the page couldn't be loaded (Seite konnte nicht geladen werden). Anybody else having this?

Have you tried it again after a couple hours?

Yes. Tries rebooting several times. Have been waiting for a week now, I think. Maybe I just shouldn't upgrade. Maybe I should go with command line (apt-get something I guess - how to do it in SailfishOS?)

Ok that's strange. There are no changes in 3.0.3.9 for the Jolla1 - so you don't need to update for now. Otherwise you could try this tool (which is an rather easy and secure way to upgrade): https://openrepos.net/content/olf/sfos-upgrade After installing it Eeter sfos-upgrade 3.0.3.9 in Terminal. You need root access for that.

Ok, maybe that could be a reason for this, right? I mean if there are no changes for Jolla1 in this release. I'll ignore this for now, waiting for the next release and hoping things will go back to normal. Thanks for the link to this tool anyway - it might be I will need it at a later time ...

No this shouldn't happen. I also upgraded my Jolla1 from 3.0.3.8 to 3.0.3.9. But for now you certainly won't miss out on anything. Let's hope it somehow works again with the next upgrade. Or maybe someone else has an idea what could be wrong. Are you using a modified host file or something else which could be blocking certain IP addresses since the last update to 3.0.3.8?

There were no functional changes for Jolla1 from 3.0.3.8 to 3.0.3.9. We wanted to roll the latter out for all just to keep the logistics simpler - the same version for everyone. Since there is a new version, then one package, 'sailfish-version', got an update. This is the smallest possible OS update. This is what Jolla1 is to download and install.

the page couldn't be loaded (Seite konnte nicht geladen werden) That should be a rather generic error message when attempting to browse to a web page. Not specific to OS updates. Perhaps there was a temporary problem with the Internet?

Some news there: my device was running out of space. The first strange thing that happened was this update issue - but things became stranger. Android-Apps not sarting at all anymore. Things slowing down more and more. Interestingly it didn't show me that it had storage problems. So finally I figured out, the problem could lay there, and so I deleted an moved things to the sdcard. gpodder was one major culprit ;-) So things are working smoother now - but still the upgrade page won't display. When I have some spare time I'm going to research a bit ...
