My Xperia X was recently on 3.0.2 (Oulanka) but after a soft-reset, it reverted back to 2.1 (Kymijoki). I didn't want to have to iterate through every update.

After downloading the latest 3.0.3.9 (Hossa) image from Jolla Shop, I proceeded to flash the image to my Xperia X F5121 using these instructions from Step 5 onwards.

When I initially flashed Sailfish 2.1 (Kymijoki) back in November 2017, I used the recommended binaries at the time, SW_binaries_for_Xperia_AOSP_M_MR1_3.10_v13_loire.zip. Along the way, I thought it best to obtain the latest binaries as they have been most likely updated, so I used SW_binaries_for_Xperia_Android_8.1.6.4_r1_v17_loire.zip as part of the flashing in Step 5.

After performing Step 6 in the Linux instructions, using flash.sh, the script completed without errors. However, upon restarting the device, I am perpetually stuck on the Sony boot screen.

Have I missed something during the flash process? Have I used the incorrect version of the binaries?

Xperia X needs:
SW_binaries_for_Xperia_AOSP_M_MR1_3.10_v13_loire.img
See: https://jolla.com/sailfishx-linux-instructions/

Xperia XA2 needs:
SW_binaries_for_Xperia_Android_8.1.6.4_r1_v17_nile.img
(extracted from SW_binaries_for_Xperia_Android_8.1.6.4_r1_v17B_nile.zip)
See: https://jolla.com/sailfishx-linux-instructions-xa2/

Let's make sure (before starting to install) that we follow the correct instructions.

As already mentioned, the installation steps were followed. However, as that instructions page is written and maintained by Jolla, it is highly likely that it is inaccurate and out of date. Hence, the question about the latest Loire 8.1.6.4 binaries available (not the Nile binaries). This topic is in no way related to the XA2, and I'm not concerned with that device or the Nile binaries, so please don't confuse matters.

Let's make sure we stay on topic.
