I use night shift both on Ubuntu and Android and I would also love to see this feature on SFOS too.

You're wasting your time. Similar tools have been requested (e.g. redshift, f.lux) for years. This would require changes in the OS (i.e some actual work by Jolla) to make it possible, which we have already resigned to, that it is not going to happen.

Tint Overlay is a great tool for adjusting colors and alpha of the screen. I use it for reading in the dark. Have you tried it?

I tried it now, but it does the opposite of what I need. It increases colors instead of reducing them. Increasing red + green doesn't work, it's not the same.

I have following setup for reading in the dark

In Settings -> Display

  1. set brightness to the lowest value

  2. unset the automatic brightness control

In Tint Overlay:

  1. set Alpha: 128

  2. set colors: 0

( 3. Adjust the colors to suit your needs )

It is not exactly the same, but if your intention is to read in the dark, it's sufficient.
