SMS sending and reception apparently not working on Sony Xperia XA2 dual SIM after upgrade to 3.0.3.10

As title.
After OTA update to Build 3.0.3.10 (Hossa), Sony Xperia XA2 dual SIM fails to send or receive SMS messages. Error message is 'Problem with sending message'
Putting phone into Flight mode and back to normal does not solve problem. Rebooting the phone does not solve the problem.
Update 2019-06-01: Ability to send and receive SMS messages has 'magically' returned. I do not know why. There are two possible sources:
- Under Settings - SIM cards I found that both SIMs were set as active, even though I have no SIM in the second slot. I disabled the second SIM. This appeared to have no effect.
- While trying to send test SMS messages to a phone connected to the same operator, the phone 'froze' and eventually rebooted itself. Some time after this (I don't know when) sending and receiving SMS messages started working again.
If I get the time (family matters take priority), I will try and see if anything has appeared in dmesg/the system log. Don't hold your breath.

Respectfully, this is not a duplicate, as SMS was working on my Sony Xperia dual SIM when it was running 3.0.3.9 (Hossa). It was only after the OTA update from 3.0.3.9 (Hossa) to 3.0.3.10 (Hossa) on 2019-05-29 that SMS stopped working. In other words, the bug noted against 3.0.2.8 (Oulanka) in your link is out of date.
