Hello!I'm a new user in Sailfish OS and I would like to tell my first impressions in this OS.I'm coming from Android OS and I have seen that there aren't so many apps in Sailfish OS. I have some questions:

  1. I have chosen Sailfish OS because I like privacy. But what happen when someone install Android apps in Sailfish OS?
  2. The native browser is very slow.Is there any other browser?
  3. Which VPN app is better. Is it possible to use a commercial VPN app (like "Hotspot Shield Elite","CyberGhost","Nordvpn")?If not, which of the native one do to recommend?
  4. I'm looking forward to install apps like GPS, privet browsers , dictionary , media player , call recorder. Is it something same in native Sailfish OS apps?
  5. My mobile phone is Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra. How can I use the fingerprint unlock?I haven't find anything in settings.

Thank you for your time! I hope to stay in this OS because my first priority is privacy.

1) Please use the search function. There are some really good explanations in other threads... 4) media players, call recorder, offline dictionary apps are available using native apps. Either through the official jolla store but you may need to install the openrepos warehouse app (just search for it). This is an alternative really good app store for Sailfish OS. 5) The fingerprint sensor is badly not available for XA2

use storeman for openrepos, warehouse is nit compatible with later versions of sailfish. some people still are stuck on the name "Warehouse"

1) Congratulations, you made the right choice if privacy is your concern. As long as you do not intall Google Play, you are already one step ahead. Take a look at this link for an explanation of how Sailfish and Android work. [Thanks @DrYak !!!] You will notice that TJC is a great source of info.

2) This is one of the things the community is complaining about. There are other unofficial native browsers like webcat (this one seems to be updated regularly). Personally I stick to the standard provided by Sailfish. You can find thse alternatives in OpenRepos (this is a very good source of alternative native apps).

3) The standard functionality provided by Sailfish works very well. In the settings there are different VPN types that the OS lets you use. I have got very good experience with openVPN.

4) Look at this link. Again, Jolla's community (TJC) is fantastic !

5) Patience is the sailfish os user's virtue! :D It is being developed. I think I have read there are some unofficial developments (search TJC), but it does not seem to be stable yet.
