Regression: Calendar cannot have same start and end times for events

I have noticed that is not longer possible to create Calendar events where the start and end time and date are identical. The behaviour on 3.0.3.10 (Hossa) highlights the Event Start and End dates and times in red and greys out Save if the Event start and end times are identical on the same day.

I know this is a regression, I I have regular calendar events that were created before I upgraded to Hossa which continue to have identical start and end date-times. If I open the event for editing and make a change in (say) the description, I cannot save the edited event.

This occurs both on a Sony XA2 dual SIM, and an original Jolla One Phone

I request the original behaviour is restored. Not all events I wish to be reminded of have a duration, and it is inelegant to enter a false duration as a workaround.

I've asked @pvuorela who did the modification if it was done on purpose or as a side effect of rewriting the code handling the change in end time when the start time is modified. Besides this little regression, the new logic is much better in my opinion.

I've been troubleshooting calendar problems in our company email, and some clients go completely bonkers when they meet and have to sync events with the same start and end time and date. For instance they may start duplicating the event for every day.

So it looks like that the current way is better from the perspective of the hole calendar ecosystem.

Nothing logical about it. Since separate reminders can't be created (also stupid), an event with same start and end time serves as a de facto reminder. And since reminders were not implemented in the "update", what was done is absolutely a regression. On the rare occasions Jolla tamper with their own apps, it's only to destroy functionality. I've waited 5 years to have reminders like on the N900, but it will never happen. Setting the same start and end time is and will be the only way as long as there is a Sailfish, if Jolla can at least roll back this latest downgrade...

Adding a reminder, with a single timepoint, like an alarm, would be a fine solution from my point of view if it replaced an event of zero duration. As it is, neither functionality is currently implemented, and reverting to the previous behaviour of having zero duration events solves the problem of the missing functionality. If Jolla's programmers decided to implement reminder/alarms in the calendar, that's fine as a replacement for event of a single duration, or as additional functionality. I don't mind which.
