Has anyone been able to get Android auto into Xperia X or any other sailfish device? My 1st try on my Xperia X was unsuccessful.

If Android Auto app uses Bt, Sailfish OS does not allow any Android app open bt connections. Similarly Galaxy Wearables app for smart watches does not work in Xperia XA2 and X phones with SFOS. It's very sad and complicated.

Android Auto on my VW uses cable, not BT.. Same for the Apple Car app or MirrorLink. IMO a phone should always be connected to car without BT for other apps than handsfree.

Android Auto always uses USB since Bluetooth cannot handle the data flow.

I am so glad it does not work because my Ford automatically spies me as soon as it is activated, as written in the user manual. :-)

The evolution of cars seem to have gone too far.

Answering myself: apprently Android auto requires Android 5.0 or newer, hence it does not work on the Sony Xperia X. Anyone successfully using the XA2 with Android Auto?

Shouldn't we rather re-acticulate the question to "What are the odds to implement/support any kind of car display link technology?" I'd say the MirorrLink (mirrorlink.com: "Developed by the CCC, MirrorLink is an open standard for smartphone-car connectivity that allows smartphone apps to be projected on car In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems.") is the way to go (due to it's nature). Otoh the project seems a bit stalled (last PR news from two years ago ...).

Mirrorlink seems to be outdated, and has not the features of the other two competitors. But yes, since it's open standard one might create a wired connection to a sailfish device.
